For the Love of Korea

A banker smiled at me as he gave me the exchanged Cash. When I missed a bus, A person dropped me at my hotel, though where he was actually headed was totally in the other direction. He offered me snacks on the way, told me interesting facts about the buildings and places in Changwon (though I have no idea what he said). A lady gave me free food just because I looked sad after my terrible match.

People were never this nice to me, ever, in India.
This Yongji Lake Park holds most of my pleasant memories from this trip. We Ran 3kms daily, 4 days before the match, though most of us did shit for fitness back in our homes. And as my friend and I were struggling to find the two legs we had below our waist after a looong run, an old Korean lady came towards us and gave us these plastic fans. We didn't know why or maybe we just couldn't process that info at that moment, as we had to breathe, find our legs, clear our eyesight.. so much data processing already. We didn't thank her yet but gave her a very puzzled look. Maybe it was their gesture or courtesy to give Plastic fans to foreigners? Or do we stink that much? She understood that look of ours right away, made a whole lot of sign language and our slow brains finally figured it out! She wanted us to fan ourselves as were sweating so much after the workout! We looked tired and she wanted to help us! It was a small act of kindness that actually felt so good. Those little things we do out of love.. that's what matters. And we thanked her. It was just a smile, but that was all she wanted.

And they played a Hindi song (which I don't remember) on the loudspeakers at the park on our last day. That's when I took this picture.
Korea is beautiful.

PS: she didn't give us the fan because we stank.
